Search Help

The search engine has changed for the new site and things work slightly differently now. The functionallity of searching has been vastly improved and it should now be easier to find exactly what you are looking for.

Quick type search shorcuts

You can bypass the use of the drop down selection list by using these simple quick type selections.

-a artist
-l label
-t title
-c catalogue
-w website

so a search for -a omni trio will look for omni trio even when the drop down menu shows something other than Artist.

nb: You must include the space the space between the -a and the keyword.

Wildcard searching

The new search uses keywords in order to get quicker results. Unlike the 'old' Tarzan search there aren't automatically wildcards added to the search terms. It is possible however to add them manually using the asterisk symbol: *

For example, searching for catalogue numbers with shadow* will show all releases with a catalogue number starting with shadow.

Searching for catalogue numbers with *shadow* will show all releases with a catalogue number containg shadow somewhere in the catalogue number.

Just typing shadow will find nothing.

Searching for catalogue numbers with *033 will show all releases with a catalogue number ending in 033.

Wildcards can also be used in exactly the same way when searching for artists, labels and titles.
